New York Times Runs Front Page Editorial for Gun Control

Certain kinds of weapons, like the slightly modified combat rifles used in California, and certain kinds of ammunition, must be outlawed for civilian ownership. It is possible to define those guns in a clear and effective way and, yes, it would require Americans who own those kinds of weapons to give them up for the good of their fellow citizens. – New York Times

Ummm… yeah, good luck with that.

Ammunition is supposed to be the key thing.

If they taught children religion and culture in the schools rather than how we’re all a disease of the dust and only genetics makes us desire not to harm others, perhaps there’d be fewer shootings.

And there’s no sense of community or nation, just individuals from varying backgrounds moving interchangeably.

Iceland, Iceland, Iceland. There’s little violence in Iceland despite few gun laws. Why aren’t the Icelanders shooting one another despite the dark and cold and drab scenery? Well, perhaps the Icelandic girls counter all of that, but regardless that answers for me what’s missing in the US.
