UFC Original Pat Miletich Endorses Rand Paul

I point out when cool people endorse Trump, so in the interest of fairness, I’ll pass this along. Old school UFC fighter Pat Miletich has endorsed Rand Paul. There is even Rand Paul Pat Miletich gear if you so desire. Cool pick-up from the state of Iowa for Rand. I guess not all the tough guys are endorsing Trump, just most of them. đŸ˜‰

What difference does it make who gets endorsed by any of these athletes, stars or other celebrities? I take these people for their entertainment value, if any, not for their non-existing political wisdom. Ron Paul’s endorsement of Pastor Chuck Baldwin was a major factor in my voting for the latter, because I respect the senior Paul’s political wisdom. But if he endorses Rand, I’ll just have to write it off to paternal blind prejudice.

Kirt, your humor detector is seriously flawed. Of course, in the grand scheme of things these endorsements don’t really matter when it comes to who I support. The point of pointing out all these masculine men who are endorsing Trump, is that it reinforces the idea that Trump is a man of action. A man who gets things done. The reason I pointed out that Rand got this endorsement was mostly to be funny while at the same time ribbing him a little bit.

That said, perception matters in politics whether we like it or not. We know for example that taller candidates tend to do better. Rand has a gravitas problem, and I seriously believe that one reason his campaign has floundered is because he hasn’t done the things perception wise he should have to address that problem. I plan to write something up about this.

“Masculine” men gushing and swooning over Trump just make me think that they are not very masculine. And I don’t see Trump as being a “man of action” other than in his ability to acquire real estate, wealth, and adoring crowds – all actions of an egotistical plutocratic demagogue. This is not the type of person I admire in politics or anywhere else. Now if he gets elected president and in his first term actually does some of the actions I would like to see, then yes I may vote for him for a second term. As of now, I see no reason to vote for him whatsoever. But then I’m a rather cynical hard case. Even Trump’s entertainment value is starting to wear thin since there are limits to how funny it is to insult other people for their looks. This was somewhat funny initially; after months it is growing pretty old. Or is that just my sense of humor deficiency?
