The Donald Calls Out Obama on Baltimore Riots

This is why I like Trump. He has very little filter and therefore sometimes speaks truths that others aren’t willing to speak. People may protest, but it is entirely true that Obama has made race relations in this country worse, not better.

It’s certainly true that race relations are worse rather than better thanks to Obama, but they are still far better now than in the late 60s. And, even more recently than that, these affairs in Ferguson and Baltimore are small potatoes compared to the Rodney King riot which took place when I was living in LA. And Trump is hardly a lone voice in the wilderness in blaming the riots on Obama. Just about every commentator on Fox is doing the same.

When did we stop shooting looters?

Be it a Hurricane, Sunumi, Tornado, Riot, or whatever, it was once understood that “LOOTERS WILL BE SHOT!”…………..The problem is not that the police killed one perpetrator, but that they did not shoot enough looters and enforce the curfew. Did we forget everything that we learned about “crowd control” in the sixties?…………………..Dogs, Water Hoses, and Guns have always dispersed unlawful rioters in history…….I expected to get shot if I threw a brick at a cop! Peaceful Protest is not what we saw. We saw mob rule, arson, and violence. NO Founding Father would have tolerated such.

Kirt……….Do you realize how fast “Bull Conner” of Birmingham Alabama could have put those rioters asses back in their homes with doors locked?…………….Mob rule has never been a part of the American Experience?

I don’t recall Bull Conner being all that successful in Alabama and mob rule has been part of the American experience at least since the Boston massacre in Colonial times. If the current riots fizzle out in the same way that Occupy Wall Street fizzled, they will have no appreciable impact. If they continue for many months and escalate, they will have the effect of getting the Republican candidate elected in 2016. That will mean the end of the riots but otherwise will have no effect on the country’s direction.

Unless your a Birmingham native, you have NO IDEA how fast the South put African Americans asses back in their houses with dogs and fire hoses during the heyday of “JIM CROW”?(*Perhaps your not from the true South?)………..Riots in the South were met with real justice!……Not, sleezy PC?

We cleared the streets, and made it possible for the real WORKING CLASS to function….And rioters went to jail!……..Rioting and Looters is not Peaceful Protest?

Well, I didn’t live in Birmingham at the time, just watched TV from Kentucky. But according to the Wikipedia article on Conner, after about a week, the Birmingham business establishment capitulated completely to the demands of the demonstrators, which included the the release of all those Conner had arrested. Conner was then voted out of office in a re-organization of city government and failed to have the election overturned. But the memory of his tactics gave impetus to the passage of the 1964 and 1965 civil rights bills. If this constitutes success for him, how would you define failure?
The situation now is not really comparable, however. The street has no real demands, just free style anarchy. And the American domestic police state makes Conner look like a civil libertarian by comparison. The only effect of continued riots or even large scale peaceful demonstrations will be to ensure the election of a hard line law-and-order candidate in 2016.

I would actually define “Failure” as the denial of truth, choosing PC in it’s place. George C. Wallace, H. Ross Perot, and Patrick Buchanan were not failures, but truth denied. Therefore, PC is actually failure.

But your reference to Wiki is correct. Bham restructured to comply with PC, and white flight began. (Most businesses and growth moved to North Shelby County, the college games at Legion Field ended, Rickwood Field became a historical nothing, the State Fair ended, and most businesses departed and actually defeated the 2% occupational tax against workers that simply drove into work in Bham.)……….Now voted as about the 6th most dangerous city in the US.

Trump can say what he really thinks because a) he’s rich, and no one can fire him for crimethink and b) because he’s not now, nor ever will be, an elected official seeking re-election.

He is fully aware of both.
