I’m not crazy about the military boosterism, but other than that it’s right on. Especially the call for everyone to lighten up.

Hawthorne, I hope you realize I’m just ribbing you. A little regional jousting is good for the character of the nation as a whole.

    Red, I’ve conversed with hardcore Irish Nationalists and tried to point out that like the story of King Kong, if Northern Ireland ever became part of Ireland, Ireland would no longer be Ireland. We all need a permanent Other. That you thought you might need to apologize, is just Southern weakness, posing as manners. No emoticon wink from me.
