The PC Thought Police Attempt to Taint Rep. Scalise, Some Foolish “Conservatives” Play Along

Have you been following the Rep. Scalise (R-LA) issue? He is the third highest ranking Republican in the House, and allegedly once addressed an organization run by David Duke. Or maybe he didn’t, as new details emerge. Funny how the details that are contrary to the liberal PC narrative that all whites are evil wrongthinkers, leak out slowly, like the retraction of the UVA gang rape hoax, but the initial story bursts into the news with trumpets blaring.

Anyway, Scalise is considered an Establishment friendly RINO by many conservatives, so a lot of “conservatives” jumped on the Scalise story and sounded like an arm of the $PLC as they were doing so. It takes a special kind of stupid for a “conservative” to think his cause is well served by playing thought enforcer for the PC Gestapo.

That said, here is my reply to the IPR post:

“Third highest ranking Republican in US House tied to David Duke?”

And the highest ranking Democrat and President of the United States is tied to left-wing terrorist Bill Ayers (Ayers may have even ghost written Obama’s memoir.), and black racialists Al Sharpton and Jeremiah Wright among others.

Personally, I think we should use people’s past associations for informational purposes, but we shouldn’t play the gotcha taint game. Anyone who travels on the periphery of politics in the US is going to run into people that the mainstream considers unsavory, on race, on conspiracies, on outside the mainstream political theories (Communism, monarchism, etc.), etc. The gotcha game of attempting to taint people by their associations has the effect of driving politics toward the center. Plus, it is never done fairly by a biased left-wing press which considers an association with Duke disqualifying but an association with Ayers as ho hum.

And there is news now coming out now that Scalise didn’t even actually meet with Duke’s group.

Hawthorne, you have probably figured out by now that I am incapable of thinking that way. Because I’m not mentally wired to think that way and because I don’t necessarilly concede that it is wise to do so. I am invested in maintaining our narrative and rhetoric and am generally unwilling to sacrifice them for short term political gain. I’m trying to think more strategically, and have probably gotten some better on that point, but I think this is why I make a better pontificator than I do an activist. Everyone needs to know their niche.

One of the most important points you ever made, Red.

You are literally wired for defeat and destruction. Your genetics have you on a crash course to be the principle saboteur of any successful conservative movement in your lifetime.

I have no opinion one way or the other about Scalise, but it is ridiculous to criticize someone for meeting with someone else or addressing that person’s group. In fact that is objectively a good thing for a politician to do and it matters not whether the person or group is in agreement with you or not. I don’t doubt that I’ve met with people much worse than Duke. Of course all this is easy for me to say since I’m not a politician and don’t even have a job to protect, so I can pretty much say and do as I please.

I once saw David Duke as a extremist in a world of reason………………Then, I started listening to his message and realized that he was a VOICE OF REASON AND TRUTH in a world of PC CORRECTNESS!!!……………….Duke is not a liability, for those interested in truth, but a prophet of truth, and I support his work!
